April Favourites 2016

Hello everyone! Hope you all had a fabulous weekend! Today I thought I would share some of my April favourites with you even though I’m kinda late in the game! I can’t believe we’re almost halfway through the month of May! Summer is on the horizon…that’s pretty crazy. Monthly favourites are probably my favourite blog posts to read or Youtube videos to watch because I discover a lot of new stuff that I want to try and see how they work for me. Let’s discuss about some of my favourite things from last month.

1. Rimmel London Lasting Perfection Skin Full Coverage Foundation

I am so in love with this product. This is probably my all time favourite drugstore foundation. It has an amazing full-coverage but it looks very natural on the skin without creating a mask-like effect. The product is enriched with a comfort serum that is supposed to make it sweat, humidity and transfer proof for up to 25 hours. Crazy, right? I think it is quite impossible to wear foundation for that long. However, it feels very comfortable and lasts for about ten to twelve hours on my oily/combination skin with just one or two touch-ups throughout the day. It has a semi-matte finish, giving the skin a subtle, healthy glow.

2. LOC One&Done Shadow Stick

Birchbox brand LOC spent years creating a long-lasting eyeshadow that we can fit in the palm of our hands and they have accomplished their mission. This is my go-to product whenever I feel like wearing eyeshadow. You can’t really tell from the picture above, but this is one of the most beautiful champagne colours I have ever seen and surprise, surprise…this particular shade is called “Champagne Problems”. This is the perfect product if you are lazy like me and you can’t be bothered to use makeup brushes, primers and all that fun, time-consuming stuff because this stick delivers a creaseless, waterproof colour in just one swipe.

3. Benefit They’re Real Tinted Primer

As a lash enthusiast, I fell in love with this product almost instantly! This is a lash primer that can be worn alone for a natural look or under regular mascara for major wow lashes as it boosts length and separation. The mink brown primer tints and defines the lashes for a feathery look and I love how it stays soft so you can layer mascara even six hours after you applied the primer. It has a flexible brush so it separates the lashes perfectly and makes them look fuller and thicker without any flaking.

4. Arrow Boost Colour Enhancing Lip Balm

My all time favourite lip balm, period. This product has been formulated to adjust to your unique pH. This means that it adjusts to each wearer’s natural lip colour creating the perfect hue while nourishing ingredients like mango seed butter hydrate and protect the lips. The packaging looks quite basic but the product itself is truly amazing. Did I mention it also has a lovely scent that makes you want to bite right into it? This lip balm has saved my lips as they tend to get dry very easily.

5. NYX Lingerie Liquid Lipstick in shade Push-Up

This has been my go-to lipstick for the entire month of April. I have been into nude, matte lip products recently and this one dries matte within seconds, it is very pigmented and lasts for ages. Another bonus is that it doesn’t make my lips look chapped after I spend like ten minutes struggling to take off the lipstick. In one of my previous posts I compared the NYX Liquid Lipsticks with Kylie Jenner’s lip kits so click here if you want to know my full thoughts on this product.

6. Sigma F05 Small Contour Brush

If you are a contour fanatic then you need this brush in your life! I have had my eyes on the Sigma F05 brush for ages, especially since I have seen it on numerous blogs and Youtube videos with everyone claiming that this is their favourite contour brush. It has a small, dense, rounded brush head that is perfect when blending contour products under the cheekbones, jaw-line or temples. The brush is made of natural hair with really soft and fine bristles. I know Sigma is quite an expensive brand but in terms of quality and performance, this tool would be a great investment.

7. Laura Mercier Flawless Skin Face Polish

This is a scrub with purifying microbeads that cleanses and exfoliates, removing dead skin cells to leave skin smooth and even-toned. Because it is very creamy and gentle and it doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin, I have been using it on a daily basis. I absolutely love how it leaves my face feeling really soft and fresh within seconds and how it helps with keeping my pores tight. It also smells awesome and even though it is quite an expensive scrub I don’t feel like I’m being ripped off as I only need a tiny amount of product to cover my entire face so this is going to last me for ages.

8. Neutrogena Visibly Clear Oil-Free Moisturiser

I was not a happy camper when I first tried this moisturiser. Because I have oily/combo skin I usually gravitate towards gel moisturisers but I have seen someone on Instagram shouting left, right and centre that this is an amazing product for anyone who is looking to nourish the skin but without making it look extra oily. So I went on and bought it but when I first used it I was definitely not impressed. It is a really thick moisturiser and I was afraid it was going to clog my pores and break me out. But it didn’t. After a couple of uses I realised how awesome this product is. My skin absorbs it within seconds, it makes it feel really smooth and hydrated without leaving it looking greasy.

9. Nivea Rich Nourishing Body Moisturiser

I am really bad at putting on body moisturiser. Partly because I am lazy, partly because I can’t stand the oily layer that most of the body products leave on my skin. I have recently discovered the solution to my problem. It’s the Nivea body moisturiser. This has a really creamy but light texture that makes my skin look glowy and moisturised and on touching it feels soft and smooth. The best part is that it gets absorbed quickly so I can’t actually make out that I have applied anything. If I could bathe in this, I would.

Hope you guys enjoyed this post and please let me know what were your favourite things in April! Don’t forget to follow me on Bloglovin’ to stay up to date with my posts!
