Birchbox Unboxing: April 2016

Hello, Hello! Today I decided to do a little unboxing of this month’s Birchbox and talk about my experience in general with this subscription service! If you are not familiar with Birchbox, it is basically a box filled with five deluxe beauty samples that is delivered to your door every month. When you sign up on their website, you take a quiz so that you get products tailored to your beauty profile and tips on how to use them.
After you get the box and try the mix of samples- haircare, skincare, makeup, fragrance or sometimes a miscellaneous item, you have two options: toss them or buy them. If you fall in love with one or more of the samples, Birchbox has a shop on their website and you can get your hands on the full-sized products.
I subscribed to this beauty service back in January 2016, it costs £10 plus £2.95 postage and in my opinion is well worth it as I have found products that I really like. So far I’m incredibly happy with Birchbox and I would recommend you all to subscribe because every month, the box keeps getting better and better.

For April 2016, Birchbox has partnered with US cult stationary and lifestyle brand, Riffle Paper Co. to bring two gorgeous box designs for their subscribers and I am in love with the one that I got. Inside the box, there is a special spring selection of delights, including two makeup must-haves and I got very excited when I found out that one of them was going to be a Benefit product. Let’s see what else is inside!

 1. Benefit Cosmetics Dew The Hoola | RRP £22.50

Benefit’s bestselling Hoola bronzer now comes in a new liquid formula! This stuff melts into your skin to create a naturally sun-kissed glow that’s completely free of shimmer. The finish is undetectable so you won’t be left with any lines. You can smooth this onto bare skin or over foundation for all-over radiance.

2. Cynthhia Rowley Beauty Eyeliner in Black | RRP £11

A creative force to be reckoned with in the fashion world, designer Cynthia Rowley has turned her hand to beauty for her Birchbox- exclusive makeup line. I have to be honest, I don’t really wear eyeliner but I have tried this one and I was impressed: it is creamy, it has a velvety-smooth finish and a smuge-proof formula for long-lasting results.

3. Balance Me Tinted Wonder Eye Cream | RRP £20

I am obsessed with eye creams and I’ve never realised the importance they have in your routine until recently. If you have one of those weeks when eight hours of sleep just isn’t going to happen, this product might just save your life! The dual-purpose formula not only brightens and conceals dark circles but it gets to work beneath the surface too- hydrating, plumping, firming…all that fun stuff!

4.PARLOR by Jeff Chastain Detangling Leave-In Conditioner | RRP £17

Whether your hair is fine or thick, straight or curly, chances are the struggle against tangles is real! NYC stylist, Jeff Chastain to the rescue! He created a blend of sweet almond extract and vitamin B5 to deliver soft, sleek, shine to troubled tresses with the added benefit of heat protection. Birchbox recommends spraying this evenly onto damp hair, combing and styling as normal.

5. Kueshi Foot Care Cream | RRP £12

I am not the best at taking care of my feet but since we are going into Summer soon and sandals are going to make their way out of my wardrobe, it’s time to keep those feet moisturised. The cream is enriched with sweet almond oil and royal jelly to soothe and soften, as well as tea tree oil to calm and relieve and it sinks in very quickly. Happy feet!
