Bold Is Beautiful Project

Hello, Hello! Hope everyone is having a great week so far! In today’s post I am going to talk to you about a really interesting project that Benefit Cosmetics has launched in countries all over the world to empower big dreams and bold moves. Benefit believes that gloss and glam are great but a woman is at her most beautiful when she is confident, empowered and strong. That is why they launched the Bold Is Beautiful Project, to spread this feel-good approach beyond the beauty counter.
In May, money raised from Benefit’s brow wax services at participating locations is donated to local charities that empower women and girls around the world. Anyone can help just by getting their brows waxed! In 2015, Benefit raised over $2.9 million US dollars and this year they are going even bigger and bolder.

On Sunday (8th of May) a record number of almost 700 girls and guys (and some dogs too) took the streets of central London to march and have a whole lot of fun, raising money for two female focused charities- Look Good, Feel Better and Refuge.
Look Good, Feel Better UK is dedicated to improving the confidence and wellbeing of people undergoing treatment for any sort of cancer. They improve self-image and appearance through free skincare and make-up workshops and masterclasses along with online support to help regain a sense of control and improved self-esteem.
Refuge is committed to a world where domestic violence is not tolerated and where women and children can live in safety. They aim to empower women and children to rebuild their lives, free from violence and fear. They provide a range of life-saving and life-changing services, and a voice for the voiceless.

Led by Denise Van Outen, Benefit’s Campaign Ambassador, the 4,5 mile march started in Cavendish Square and covered key London attractions including Marble Arch, Wellington Arch, Golden Square and Piccadilly Circus. At various points throughout the route participants, who were encouraged to wear minimal makeup, could stop-off at Benefit checkpoints to receive touch-ups on their skin, eyes, lips and eyebrows. Goodies, activities and photo opportunities were also involved!

The event was a huge success and everyone had fun and got excited over the marching bands, free yoomoo lollies, giant props and superhero capes!

If you couldn’t make it, fear not because you can still get involved in Bold is Beautiful by heading to your nearest BrowBar for a Brow Wax. All of Benefit’s profits go to Refuge and Look Good, Feel Better, plus you’ll get a free full sized Gimme Brow (worth £18.50) as a gift!
