How Much Is My Face Worth?

Almost everyday I wake up excited to do my makeup but I’ve never really thought about how much goes into manipulating my features. That’s why today I decided to do a tag that I saw floating around and made me curious as to how much is my face worth. The ‘rules’ are simple: you take note of all the products you have on your face and the cost of each item, then you total it. I’m not sure if we are supposed to be basing ourselves on what makeup that we wore today, but I am going with my normal makeup routine, the products that I use on a daily basis. Anyway, let’s do this!

Face

Primer: Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer (I’m currently using a small sample size): £25.50
Colour Correcting Concealer: NYX Above & Beyond Full Coverage Concealer: £5.50
Foundation: Vichy Dermablend 3D Correction: £18
Concealers: Balance Me Tinted Wonder Eye Cream: £20
                  Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer: £4.19
Powder: Vichy Dermablend Setting Powder: £15
Blush: Too Faced Pink Leopard Blushing Bronzer: £22
Highlighter: Anastasia Beverly Hills Starlight Illuminator: £28

Eyes

Primer: Too Faced Shadow Insurance: £15
Eyeshadow: Urban Decay Naked 2 Basics Eyeshadow Palette: £23
Eyebrows: Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz: £15
Eyelashes: Benefit They’re Real Tinted Primer: £18.50
Maybelline The Falsies Push-Up Drama Mascara: £7.99

Lips

Lipstick: Too Faced Melted Nude: £16

Tools

Face: Real Techniques Expert Face Brush: £9.99
Real Techniques Setting Brush and Fan Brush (part of a 3 piece set): £20.99
Eco Tools Mattifying Finish Brush: £5.99
      Bourjois Blush Brush: £4.99
Eyes: Real Techniques Shading Brush and Blending Brush (part of a 3 piece set): £20.99
         MAC 217 Pencil Brush: £20
I am not sure I want to add everything up, but here we go…*drumroll… £316.63!!! Sweet Mother of Jesus, this is terrible! I actually feel a bit embarrassed right now! Probably the only way I can justify myself is the fact that these products last for a very long time, especially the brushes. Is that an acceptable justification? Hopefully. To be honest, I have been using my Urban Decay palette for over two years and I’ve only hit pan on a couple of eyeshadows.
This is such a crazy tag! In the end, I guess we are all even, right? Other people spend an extortionate amount of money on other goods…but cosmetics are my passion. Does that make it any better? Probably not…but I tried. I don’t want to think what the total would be for a night time look!
Let’s divide my total by the number of days in a year to see how much that makes… £0.86 per day! I can live with that!
I tag everyone who reads this so please do it and leave a comment below so I can look and feel less guilty!

I think sometimes we collect so many different cosmetic products that we do not realise how much money we actually spend! But I always say you have only one face and skin and if you have a glow then you can wear anything! x

Realising how much money we spend on beauty products it's actually painful but at the end of the day it's all worth it! x
