Just because summer’s finished it doesn’t mean that your tan has to. Today I’m reviewing Dove’s DermaSpa Summer Revived self tanning body lotion. If you’re like me and you want to keep your natural bronze glow all year long without getting a spray tan, going to a tanning booth or dealing with the patchiness of self-tanners, then this body lotion is your best option. I must say, I’m not very much of a fake tan girl but a few weeks ago I spotted this product on offer, so I thought I would give it a go.
First things first, the packaging is absolutely beautiful. It’s so sleek and it looks more high end compared to other Dove products. Summer Revived is Dove’s first “spa-like body lotion combining natural gentle tanners with Cell-Moisturisers”. Basically, the product claims to give you a healthy-looking bronze glow whilst moisturising the skin.
The body lotion comes in two shades: fair to medium and medium to dark. I went for the lighter shade which is perfect if you have fair skin as it doesn’t get too dark. Before buying this, I rarely used any lotion, partly because I am lazy, partly because I hate the oily layer that most products leave on my skin. However, Summer Revived applies very nicely and it sinks into the skin super fast, leaving it soft, moisturised and glowy.
I noticed a difference in my tan after about two-three applications. This product gives a beautiful light bronze to the skin which really looks like a natural glow. It is perfect if you want to prolong your real (or fake) tan for a bit longer. As Dove mentions, this is your “daily dose of summer”.
Another good thing about Summer Revived is that it doesn’t transfer onto bed sheets or clothes and it doesn’t get patchy at all. I highly recommend this product if you aren’t into fake tanning but want to keep your skin looking naturally bronzed. I have become obsessed with this body lotion and I can definitely see myself using it all year long, especially in the colder months.
What is your favourite tanner? Have you tried this Dove Summer Revived body lotion?
