What I Read This Month: February 2017

One of my new year’s resolutions was to make more time for reading and finish at least two books every month. As a person who really enjoys reading and can go from cover to cover in one sitting, two books a month is nothing but when you’re a full-time student and wannabe blogger, it is quite hard to find time to indulge in a great page-turner. Whenever you get some free time you just want to sleep or watch crappy TV shows. However, this year I managed to read a total of eight books and today I’m going to share with you the ones that I finished in February.

#GirlBoss by Sophia Amoruso
I’ve seen this book all over the internet and I’ve heard such good things about it like ohh it really motivates you and it makes you feel like an actual #girlboss ready to accomplish anything you put your mind to. Indeed it was quite an inspiring read and it was really interesting to see how Sophia Amoruso took her small Ebay business from 0 to 100 and turned it into something amazing that is Nasty Gal…or was. I’m saying ‘was’ because right when I was reading this book I found out that the company is now bankrupt, closing its stores and selling everything online. It was a bit of a shock to me considering how the company is praised in Amoruso’s book.
The Little Book of Hygge by Meik Wiking
There was a time when I used to see this book at least five times a day on my Instagram feed and everyone was saying how good of a read this is. I wasn’t very familiar with the concept of ‘hygge’ so I did a little research and then I got this book to fill in some blanks. I can now firmly say that I want to move to Copenhagen, tomorrow if possible, and start living well with the Danes. This book covers everything you need to know about hygge and things you can do to experience it even if it’s through food or clothing.
Capture Your Style by Aimee Song
And now the cherry on top… I’m sure you’ve seen this book on Pinterest or Instagram because let’s face it, it is really aesthetically pleasing. However, not many people talk about its actual content. The book was sold out everywhere for quite a long time so I guess there must be something about it that people really like, despite its amazing appearance. The book is written by Aimee Song, known for her gorgeous Instagram feed and her fashion and interior design blog called Song of Style and she tackles everything you need to know about curating the perfect Instagram feed. From taking the picture and editing to tips on how to grow your audience, this book is the Bible!!
I hope you enjoyed this post and if you have any book recommendations please let me know in the comments below!

Great post! I just recently finished reading GIRLBOSS and am going to have a full review on my blog soon about it. I agree it is interesting how the company is now bankrupt… I can't connect the dots and figure out how that exactly happened, when in the book, Sophia speaks of nasty gal has being so successful and perfect. Besides that, I did love the book and I do love her story!

The book was really lovely! But to be fair, it was written a couple of year ago! A lot could have happened to her company in that time so maybe the bankruptcy can be justified somehow x
