Review: Glo&Ray Products

A few weeks ago I attended Blogosphere Magazine’s Valentines Tea Party event where I discovered a new cosmetics brand called Glo&Ray. The British company draws inspiration from the natural wonder of light and their ethos is to create products that illuminate individual beauty. Price wise, their cosmetics are fairly affordable, sitting at the edge between drugstore and high-end. At the event I was gifted three products which I’ve been testing ever since and I’m going to share with you my thoughts on them as I’m sure a lot of you haven’t heard of this brand before.

Glo&Ray Sky Breaker Lasting Silky Eyeliner

The first thing that was in my goodie bag was the Sky Breaker Lasting Silky Eyeliner in a really nice champagne colour. At first glance, it looked like the perfect eyeliner that I would use in the inner corner of the eye or on the waterline to brighten up my look. When you swatch the product on your hand it looks quite pigmented but on the eyes you can barely see it, plus I find it a little bit harsh. I expected it to be creamier considering the ‘silky’ word in the title. Unfortunately, this product was a miss for me.

Glo&Ray La Amo-Matte Lip Colour

Spoiler alert: another miss. I’m not being a lipstick snob like oh I only wear Kylie Cosmetics or Mac but sadly this one from Glo&Ray just doesn’t live up to the claims. The colour is absolutely gorgeous, a nice true red but the finish is not at all ‘matte’. It has more of a satin finish, meaning it’s not as flat as a matte one. On the contrary, it looks a bit shiny on my lips. Because it’s not as dry as I was expecting it to be, its lasting power isn’t that good either. You will definitely need to reapply it if you eat throughout the day.

Glo&Ray Perfect Arch Sculpting Brow Pencil

Aaaaand I saved the best for the last. I actually really like this brow pencil. In my ‘Get killer eyebrows’ post from a few months ago I mentioned how much I love Benefit’ Goof Proof brow pencil and this one from Glo&Ray is the perfect dupe for that. I love how quick and easy it is to fill in my brows with this little guy. It’s super creamy, the shade is perfect for me and it just glides on very smoothly. Also, I like how it doesn’t budge during the day even if I sweat or my skin gets really oily. This is the one product that I would definitely repurchase from the brand.
Let me know in the comments below what are your thoughts on this brand! Have you tried anything from Glo&Ray?

I would actually like this lipstick as I love a satin finish as I'm not exactly a matte lipstick fan entirely, but like the sound of all these products believe it or not!

I don't mind lipsticks that have satin finish but this one was supposed to be matte so that's why I was a little bit confused! x
