Morphe 25B Bronzed Mocha Palette | Review & Swatches

A few months ago Morphe came out with two limited edition eyeshadow palettes (25A Copper Spice and 25B Bronzed Mocha) and of course as soon as I heard the news I had to know more about them. I’ve never owned any Morphe products before but a lot of people seem to be really loving the brand, especially their eyeshadow palettes because they have amazing quality and reasonable prices. The best of both worlds, am I right? One day I found myself browsing on BeautyBay and the next thing you know I had two of the Bronzed Mocha palettes in my basked- one for myself and one for a giveaway (peep my Twitter @alinaasirbu for details). As soon as I got the palette I had to touch it, swatch it, try it and oh em gee, was I impressed. I’ve been using this palette every single day ever since I got it and here are my honest thoughts on it!

Unlike the regular 35 colour Morphe palettes, the 25B only comes with 25 and instead of the usual all  black plastic packaging this one comes with an acrylic lid which in my opinion is a plus because I like being able to see the colours in the palette. Another difference between the classic Morphe palettes and the limited edition one is the shape of the eyeshadows in the pan as these ones come in a square shape instead of a circle. Overall, the packaging is great and I have no complaints about it. It is really is to store and to hold and again, I’m really happy with the transparent lid which allows me to see the colours inside at all times.

Product & Formula

Described as a ‘steamy spiced latte on a crisp, cool day’, the Bronzed Mocha palette includes a mix of warm and cool mattes with neutral shimmers. I feel like the main focus of this palette is brown and purple. There are so many shades of brown which make the 25B palette so versatile and they open the door to endless possibilities when it comes to your looks. I don’t think I’ll ever get bored of this palette! Both the matte and the shimmer shades are incredibly pigmented and by incredibly I mean WOW, the colour pay off is amazing! I am particularly in love with the shimmers and you will see why in the swatches below. They almost look like foil and they are so bloody pigmented that sometimes I feel like I’m using a pressed pigment instead of a regular eyeshadow. All the shades feel buttery at touch and they are so easy to apply and also blend. I don’t find them chalky at all and I’ve never experience fallout with them, not even with the highly pigmented shimmery shades.

These swatches were done with no primer underneath. One thing I did wish this palette had is names for the eyeshadows but oh well, you can’t have it all.
First row
One of my favourite colours in the palette is the first one on the right. You can’t really see it in the picture because it’s so light but it’s such a great base colour and when you apply it you will instantly notice a brightening effect. The rest of the shades on this row are perfect as transition colours.
Second row
The second row includes a mix of light browns with a good selection of undertones. From a light orangey brown to something more ashy, the variety is great. One of my favourite colours on this row is the second one on the left. It’s a light cool toned brown and I always find myself reaching out for it when I do my makeup.
Third row
And now the shimmers! My favourite row in the entire palette! Look how beautiful they are and how nice they shine! They all apply seamlessly and the colour selection is amazing. You get a gold, a champagne pink (my absolute favourite), a rusty pink, a cool tone brown grey and a warm brown.
Fourth row
This row consists in a mix of textures- matte, shimmer and metallic. Here’s where you get deeper, darker browns including a shimmery purply one (first shade on the left).
Fifth row
And finally the last row is the one with the darkest burgundy and brown shades in a mix of matte and shimmer formulas. I don’t use these colours very often but they are perfect for a more dramatic night look.
All in all, I have nothing but good words to describe this palette and I’m actually mad at myself for not trying Morphe eyeshadows earlier. Their quality is amazing for such a low price (the 25B Bronzed Mocha palette retails for £19) and I would definitely recommend this to any beauty lover because it is a MUST HAVE!

To be honest this is the first Morphe palette that has properly caught my eye, it looks gorgeous and I feel like you could create so many nice autumn/winter looks with it. I was a little skeptical of the formula but from what you said it's pretty great!
